HOW IT WORKS
At specific high pressures and temperatures the mixing of methane molecules and heavier NGL molecules results in molecular packing which creates a stable dense phase rich gas mixture which can be transported in a single pipeline rather than two pipelines.
Molecular packing results in dense gas mixtures under controlled operating conditions. The resulting decrease in pipe friction yields benefits of lower compressor horsepower and smaller diameter pipeline compared to conventional systems.

(JETI) designed technology of combining high pressure with mixed gas, while managing the various constituents of the gas, transcends the conventional natural gas and NGL's pipeline system approach. MEET JL ENERGY
JL Energy Transportation Inc. (JETI) is a privately held, Calgary , AB based technology company that developed, patented and licensed highly efficient methods of rich gas transportation and currently is developing other unique energy transportation technologies. The founder of JETI, John Lagadin, is widely regarded as the founder of the rich gas Alliance Pipeline system.
John Lagadin and other members of the JL Energy Technology team were responsible for the Northern Area Transportation Study, which resulted in the eventual formation and construction of the Alliance Pipeline. This $4 billion (USD) project was completed at a 20% saving over competitive systems proposed for the delivery of more than 1.5 bcf/d of rich gas and over its 3,000 km length. In the National Energy Board's Reasons for Decision on the approval of the permit for the Canadian portion of the line, the NEB stated, "Alliance is a well-conceived project that will provide an innovative alternative to the existing gas transportation infrastructure."
